Students are busy. I get it. Just like training for a marathon, you don’t run five miles on the first day. Have them start off slowly and work their way up. No. Your teen may apply for private scholarships at any time that meets the donor's criteria. While rare, there are some that students can apply for as young as 6th grade. As for the FAFSA, they may submit their application any time after October 1st PRIOR to the academic year they plan to attend. So, for example, if they plan to attend college in the Fall of 2023, they may submit their application as early as October 1, 2022. To actually receive any funds, however, they must be admitted and enrolled at the university.
